School Visit by SMK Bandar Baru Sungai Long
The Outreach Committee, a sub-committee under the Industrial Linkage Committee (ILC), organised the first of its initiatives under the School Visit program on 2nd October 2012. The initiative was led by lecturers Dr. Wong Siew Kin and Mr. Lam Zi Yi, and was further assisted by lecturers, Mr. Mohd. Fikry, Ms. Siti Azlida, Dr. Sin Yew Keong and Ms. Siva Priya.
A contingent consisting of 37 students and 2 teachers from SMK Bandar Baru Sungai Long, Kajang, visited the Faculty of Engineering (FOE). Transportation between the school and MMU was provided by MMU and lecturers Dr. Wong Siew Kin and Mr. Lam Zi Yi accompanied the contingent from the school premise to MMU.
The program started at 9.30a.m. with a welcome speech by Dr. Lee Ching Kwang. This was followed by a presentation by Dr. Wong Siew Kin entitled "Introduction of MMU and FOE". The students were then given some light refreshments. After the refreshments, Seminar on "Love Physics" was presented by Dr. Sin Yew Keong. The seminar aimed to help students understand how Physics is used in our daily lives and why Physics is fundamental in engineering.
The tour then proceeded to the Robocon Lab and the Digital Home Lab, where students were shown the latest research initiatives by FOE. The students showed keen interest in these labs and asked many questions. After these lab tours, the contingent, led by Mr. Lam Zi Yi was taken also on a univeristy tour which highlighted the facilities in MMU. The tour ended with lunch.

The Forum Committee, a sub-committee under the Industrial Linkage Committee (ILC), organised an industrial forum entitled "Engineers: From the Employers Perspective" in 31 October 2012. Approximtely 120 students attended the forum. The initiative was led by lecturers Ms. Siva Priya, Ms. Alice Khaw, Ms. Ranusha & Mr Lam Zi Yi. They were further assisted by lecturers Ms. Yip Sook Chin, Mr. Mohd Fikry, Ms. Yvonne Kam, Dr. Wong Siew Kin and Ms. Lee Yee Lien.

Abstract
Agile is a software development methodology that focuses on iterative and incremental delivery, with emphasis on flexibility and value. It's approach allows for scope changes with frequent deliverables. The use of Agile Software Development methodology has already been adopted by companies such as Amazon, Siemens Healthcare, Microsoft, Yahoo! and Salesforce (to name a few), but still remains a fairly new frontier in Malaysia. This talk will explore this methodology and how it can improve software delivery with better customer satisfaction.
Biography of Speaker
Colin Pal received his Bachelor degree in Information Technology majoring in Multimedia Systems from MMU Cyberjaya. Currently heading the Product Management team in the KL office for Experian Hitwise, he is a Certified Scrum Product Owner (certified by the Scrum Alliance Inc) and is also an Agile Certified Product Manager (certified by AIPMM). He will be one of the speakers at the upcoming Big Data Workshop in conjunction with the MRMW Asia Pacific Conference.

Dear Students, are you good in a certain subject and are passionate about helping your fellow students on the subject? We are pleased to announce a new round of Buddy Tutoring program in which you may contribute your knowledge/experience to assist your fellow students in their studies.
A buddy tutor basically helps during tutorial sessions or conduct extra classes for a small group of students. E.g. you maybe assist during a programming class, or help explaining concepts/theories after the normal tutorial sessions.
So, what are the benefits? You will be awarded a certification of appreciation by the Dean, earn some SAP points, and gaining some experience in teaching. More importantly, you may reinforce what you have learned earlier. As you know, the best test of whether you really understand a concept is trying to teach it to someone else.

To install the robot vision system for Hyundai motors' or KIA motors' factories in China, India, and Korea.
Proactive roles in communications, installation, demonstration, repairing and develop a new robot vision algorithm with Korea ATM’s engineers.
Confer with ATM’s engineers to plan or review work activities or to resolve installation problems.
Requirements:
Hardware engineer: Fresh graduates with GPA of 3.0 and above in Electrical / Electronic / Mechanical / Communication engineering field are encourages to apply.
