BACKGROUND INFORMATION

Asian Intense Laser Netwrok (AILN) was formed on June 17, 2004 at the University of Tokyo. The main objective of AILN is to promote collaboration in the areas of intense laser science and technology among research groups in Asian countries and region. AILN organizes workshops, summer schools and conferences.

The 1^st Asian Symposium on Intense Laser Science (ASILS) was held during the kick-off meeting for the AILN establishment, while the 2^nd was held in Kochi, India on Jan. 22-27, 2006.
